To help keep kids warm and well this winter, Oxygen has donated more than 200 pairs of pyjamas, beanies, socks, and other knitted items as part of our annual pyjama collection drive for Hutt Hospital & Hawke’s Bay Hospital’s children’s wards.
This is our fourth year running the collection and the biggest yet. As a chance to give something back to the local community, we are delighted to see so many people get on board with this important cause.
Often, children are admitted to hospital unexpectedly, and as a result, families don’t have the time to prepare, meaning children might come without something to sleep in.
It is such a comfort for children and their parents to be able to receive a cosy pair of PJs during a time that can be stressful and confusing. Hospital staff have said their parents and patients are always very grateful, helping keep children warm and feel more settled and comfortable during their hospital stay.
The volume of pyjamas donated blows us away, and we want to take a moment to thank everyone who supported the collection—your donations put many smiles on the faces of children in our local community this winter.
Special thanks to our team, owners, and tenants, as well as The Warehouse Lower Hutt, Rawson Brothers Jewellers & Watches, Floormart Hastings, and the greater Wellington and Hawke’s Bay community for your contributions.
We are so very grateful!
